Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen in working condition, lever filler, hard to find.
Product Name Waterman Hundred Year Pen (marked on the nib)
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA -- 1942. This is the second iteration of the 3rd year version as far as we can tell.
Length 5" -- very fat body
Filling System Lever filler. We've installed a new sac in the pen and the filling system works well.
Color Very dark blue ribbed barrel and cap, with amber transparent cap top and multicolored (replaced) barrel end. Gold plated trim. Made of celluloid, with a replacement barrel end in bakelite. This is not the original barrel end, which would have been amber to match the transparent part at the top of the cap.
Nib Huge gold Waterman Hundred Year Pen nib. Fine flexible nib, almost full flex with excellent line variation. See the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent working condition. Some light scratches on the body and trim, mostly light plating wear on the cap band a little more plating wear on the lever. The clear celluloid on the top of the cap shows typical discoloration. We do recommend caution when using the clip as this area can be prone to cracking. The transparent barrel appears to have been restored at least twice, as noted by the different colored layers. The imprint is partly worn but isn't too hard to read. It is restored, ready to write, and guaranteed for one year.
