Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen in working condition, lever filler, hard to find. Matching pencil.
Product Name Waterman Hundred Year Pen (marked on the nib, and on the cap)
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA, circa 1941. This is the second year version with a triple band on the ribbed barrel and a partially ribbed cap. Third year models had one cap band and a ribbed barrel and partially ribbed cap.
Length Full size 5-1/8" (there's a fatter oversized model, but this is the standard full size pen)
Filling System Lever filler. We've replaced the bladder with a new sac in the pen and the filling system works well. The pencil takes 1.1mm leads
Color Blue transparent smooth barrel and cap, made of Lucite. Gold plated trim.
Nib Huge gold Waterman Hundred Year Pen nib. Fine with a good amount of flex, better than garden variety flexible, not quite full flex. See writing sample.
Condition FOUNTAIN PEN: Excellent working condition. Only light scratches on the body and trim, with no brassing . Lucite can be prone to cracking, but luckily it doesn't crumble like the material used in the later Hundred Year pens. No cracks, but we do recommend caution when using the clip as the area where the clip attaches can be prone to cracking.
PENCIL: Near perfect with signs of light usage only. It works well.
Original Waterman box included. It was missing the elastic string that held the pens down, so we replaced it. Guarantee card included, with the original owner's name written on the reverse side. Under the tray we found a colorful piece of advertising and a red feather.
