Product Description
Type Limited edition ballpoint pen
Product Name Le Man 100
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in France -- 1985-87.
Length 5-9/16".
Filling System Takes Waterman ballpoint refills. A working black refill is installed. The refill must be properly inserted when screwing in the twist section and the mechanism only works when capped.
Color Smooth sterling silver with gold-plated highlights.
Condition Excellent condition in box. The cap and barrel have several odd splotches - at first glance they appear to be adhesive residue, but on closer inspection they're definitely shallow marks in the surface of the silver. We've got close-ups of some of these in the photos. The body of the pen has light scratching. No personalization. It's working well.
Note: Waterman made the Le Man 100 in other precious metal finishes, and the sterling "Godron" version is much more common than this "smooth sterling" variant. This pen is stamped with "0454" - we found that there were about 2000 of the fountain pens made, but we are unable to confirm the number of ballpoint pens produced.
Below are some close-ups of the weird splotches on the surface:
