Product Description
Type Vintage mechanical pencil
Product Name Red Ripple ... we're not certain which fountain pen went with this pencil, but our best guess is that it is the mate to a ripple 52, 53, or 54 pens which were all more or less the same size. It does have two bans at the top of the cap, so it might go with the Colorband models 5 or 7.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA, 1920s
Length 5-11/16"
Filling System Takes thick style (1.1mm) leads. Lead extends in the traditional, twist mechenism, but you may have to push it with your finger to make it retract. We'll include a small pack of leads. The lead container is accessed by unscrewing the top piece, and removing the eraser. The eraser currently on the pencil is old and hard but it can be removed. There are blue leads in the pencil.
Color Red hard rubber in the "Red Ripple" design, with gold plated trim.
Condition Excellent condition. This is a full size, substantial mechanical pencil that works well. The pencil has one long thin scratch on the barrel. There is a little plating wear just above the ball at the end of the clip and some pitting on the end cone. The pen is personalized on the cap: "H.T. Fisher". The personalization overlaps with the end of the Ripple imprint. There are no cracks, chips, dents or dings. The imprints are clear.
