Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Stalwart "Clerical" model. We've also seen it described as the "Cloister" model or "priest pen." It has a cross below the clip.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in Canada -- late 1940s.
Length 5-1/16" long
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black cap and barrel with chrome trim and two thin gold plated cap bands. There's a cross stamped on the cap below the clip which would have originally been highlighted with white, but very little of the paint remains.
Nib Account Waterman's Ideal 14k Canada nib. The "account" nibs were firm and fine.
Condition Excellent condition. This is a nice-sized, dark, shiny pen with unique character. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip both on the capping and posting ends of the barrel. Otherwise, the barrel is nice and clean. The lever looks nice; it has a bit of plating wear along the edges and on the flat surface. The cap has light scratching. The cap bands have quite a lot of plating wear. The clip is very nice. The stamped cross is clearly visible. The imprint is clear.
