Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Commando, "Clerical" model. We've had Canadian versions of the clerical pen in the past and they were never marked "Commando," so this must have been a US version.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- 1941-46.
Length 5-1/8" long.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black cap and barrel with chrome trim and two thin cap bands. Just below the clip, on the cap, there is an etched cross.
Nib MEDIUM 14k Waterman's Ideal nib. Smooth and springy, with a touch of flex. See our writing sample below.
Condition Very nice condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a dark, shiny pen with the unique feature of an etched cross on the cap. The barrel has light scratching and handwear. The cap has light to moderate scratching. The lever has brassing. The clip has brassing and pitting, especially near the top. The cap bands are sturdy, with a lot of brassing. The imprints are slightly smoothed down, but still easily readable.
