Color Blue in a marbled pattern that is vaguely stripey. The trim is gold-filled or plated. There is a single thin cap band.
Nib 14k nib is marked "Watermans IDEAL 14-KT." and is fine and nicely flexible. If you are looking for flex that is easy to write with on an every day basis, these 1940s Watermans can't be beat in terms of flex-per-dollar. Flexes up to double broad (see sample below).
Condition Very nice condition. The color is deep and luxurious with long swirls of black and dark shades of blue. The barrel has moderate scratching, with some long scratch lines as well as horizontal lines where the cap fits. The imprint is very clear. The lever has some plating wear. The cap has dep divot towards the top, possibly a bite mark, as well as some finer scratches. The clip looks very good. The trim ring is worn. This is a nice looking pen that is fully functional.
