Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name This is the small "Starlet" version of the Stalwart pen.... it has a now-worn gold band around the bottom of the cap.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- circa late 1940s.
Length Starlet size, 4-9/16"
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Ivory marbled. Gold plated trim with a single thin cap band. The color looks great, it doesn't appear to have faded or yellowed at all.
Nib FINE FLEXIBLE Waterman's Ideal 14k nib is smooth with great tipping material. It's nicely flexible but not full flex, with easy line variation from fine to a medium, and to a nice broad with just a light pressure. See writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition with better than average color. There's some minor scratching on the black section and a few small scratches on the end of the barrel, as well as a few nicks in the plastic around the lever. These are tiny, hardly noticeable, and do not have any effect on the way the pen works. The clip looks a little crooked, but it is well attached and doesn't wiggle. No chips, dings dents, or personalization, and the only plating wear is a little on the gold cap jewel. The imprint is clear. The pen is fully restored and working well.
