Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen and ballpoint pen set.
Product Name Taperite "Crusader."
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- circa later 1940s or '50s.
Length Fountain pen is 5-1/4", ballpoint is 5-1/8"
Filling System Lever filler (fountain pen). We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well. We were not able to open the ballpoint and so we did not replace the refill.
Color Grey body with a matte textured gold-colored cap with widely spaced chrome groove rings, and chrome plated trim.
Nib MEDIUM semi-hooded Taperite nib is smooth with nice tipping material. The tip is shaped like a very slight italic, and even with the hood is springy enough to flex a bit, giving you some line variation. See photos for a writing sample.
Condition Fountain pen: There are some scuffs on the cap, as well as a couple of dings at the top of the cap of the fountain pen. Slight handwear marks on the body, no cracks or personalization. The imprint is very crisp and clear. It's fully restored and working well.
Ballpoint pen: Not in working condition. The section is chipped just above the clutch ring (see photo below for detail). Clutch ring is split open. The barrel is in excellent condition. Cap looks fantastic, only a couple of small marks. Refill is not working.
