Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Unknown, one of Wearever's nicer models.
Manufacturer and Year Wearever, U.S.A. - circa 1940s
Length 5-1/8"
Filling System Lever filler. We've replaced the sac and it's working perfectly.
Color Grey marbled finish with red veins through it, gold plated trim, and black end pieces with white bands before them.
Nib FINE steel nib is marked Durium 14k Gold Plated, but the plating has worn away almost entirely, so it's simply a steel nib (Durium was just a marketing term for stainless steel). There are some small spots of pitting on the upper side of the nib (see photos), but it's working well. We've straightened and smoothed it out a little bit since the photos were taken and it feels pretty smooth.
Condition Very nice condition. There are some small scratches and marks on the pen. There are other small marks and scratches ont he cap and barrel, a small mark of discoloration on the barrel next to the lever, and a little plating wear on the lever and one small spot on the cap band. No cracks or chips. The clip is essentially free of plating wear. Despite the wear this pen is still looking great, in nice condition, and a beautiful finish. Fully restored and working quite well.
