Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name The model might be "Four Star" as that is on the nib. Webster was a less than top tier maker, and this is one of their nicer pens in a small size.
Manufacturer and Year Webster, Chicago (this was one of the National Pen companies) – circa 1920s-30s.
Length 5-1/16"
Filling System Twist filler. You twist the knob clockwise and then release the knob to take in ink. You can find a nice explanation about the filling system here. We inspected and tested the sac and it did not require replacement. We will guarantee the filling system for one year.
Color Striated gray celluloid. This pen is reminiscent of a Sheaffer with military clip, while the striated pattern resembles the Parker "shadow wave" design. The stripes are almost like paint strokes.
Nib Medium 14k nib is smooth and semi-flexible. The nib reads, "Webster Four Star 14k Made in USA"
Condition Excellent condition. The cap band is slightly loose but still stays in its groove, and there is some brassing along the edges. The clip has a bit of plating wear, on both ends and around the top. The patterning is great. There is light handwear and scratching, but no cracks, chips, dents, or bite marks. The ink window has some slight internal stains. The pen is working very well.
