Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name The model might be "Four Star" as that is on the nib. Webster was a less than top tier maker, but this is one of their nicer pens in a standard size.
Manufacturer and Year Webster, Chicago (this was one of the National Pen companies) – circa 1920s-30s.
Length 5-1/8"
Filling System Lever filler. Restored with a new sac.
Color Velvety, shiny black with gold plated trim. This pen is reminiscent of a Sheaffer with military clip. Clear viewing window.
Nib Medium 14k nib. The nib reads, "Webster Four Star 14k." The nib has some wear on the right side of the right tine .... we usually attribute this to using a ruler or straight edge to draw a line.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a velvety black, shiny pen in a classic style. The barrel has light marks caused by the cap lip and otherwise light scratching. The cap has light to moderate scratching with deep scratch marks just below the cap band. The lever has scratches at the very top and a small, deep mark on the lower right edge. The cap band has microdots of pitting and a partial line of plating wear along the bottom edge; it otherwise is nice and shiny gold. The clip has some microscratches on the front side, but overall is it excellent. The imprints are very clear.
