Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Unknown. There's no marking on the barrel, but the nib is marked.
Manufacturer and Year Welsh Mfg. Co., Providence, RI -- circa 1930s. The company was a manufacturer and made a variety of products, including a line of low end but very colorful fountain pens with steel nibs.
Length 4-15/16".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Wild! Multicolored marble pattern of yellows, greens, cream, coral, burgundy, and blue (see photos). Parts of the plastic were clear and are still clear on the cap, whereas on the barrel have turned a foggy tan color. Thinly gold plated trim with a thin cap band.
Nib MEDIUM steel nib marked "Welsh Mfg. Co. Stainless 14kt. Gold Plated Providence R. I." Nearly all of the gold plating is worn off, and there's some dots of pitting, but it's smooth and will be a good writer.
Condition Very nice condition. There's some light scratching and wear on the cap and barrel. The plating is substantially worn on all of the trim. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, or personalization. The pen is fully restored and working well.
