Product Name Regent Hexagonal Barley Pencil.
Manufacturer and Year Yard-O-Led, made in London, England -- 1953 based on the "S" hallmark.
Length 4-3/4", all the sterling in these pencils are hand hammered so there is some variance in size.
Filling System It takes 1.1mm leads which it extends via the twist mechanism where twisting the cone left and right moves the lead. There is no eraser.
Color Faceted sterling silver in a barleycorn design. It also has tons of hallmarks. It predates the individual numbering system and lacks the patent number that usually goes in the same location. It has a blank cartcouche for personalization and a round and smooth cap derby.
Condition Excellent used condition. The pencil has light handwear and a few darker tarnish marks on the patterning. The London versions of the pencils have extra hallmarks outside of the hallmark area and those are a bit hard to read. The majority of the sterling hallmarks are legible. No chips, dents, or scratches aside from the small scratches on the flat top part (see photos). No personalization. The pencil is working very well.
